Strategies for Purple Hibiscus

My strategy for Purple Hibiscus was to annotate. I would try and get one to two underlined important parts of the page. Then I would write a caption of why I underlined. That is what I did for the first two bread and butter assignments, now I do the reading responses. Annotating for every single page gets very time consuming. A challenge that I am finding is the time that it takes for me to read very night, so that is the main reason that I switched.
Now since I am doing the reading responses I read the chapters still annotating, but with only underlined parts every couple of pages for the really important parts. Since we are finishing the book on Tuesday, we won't be able to to this. But I think for the next book we should not have a chapter due, so people can catch up on reading. I couldn't read a chapter one day in the middle of the week because of homework and it was so hard to come back from that.

  1. Ricky, I really agree with you and think you have a great point. Annotating takes too much time to do it and have to read so much every night. It would be ok if we didn't have homework in other classes. It is hard to keep up so I also did the reading responses.
