The Old Man and the Sea
One of my summer reading books is The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway. This novel is basically an old man who goes out to sea for a week and come back with a big fish that has been eaten by sharks. One thing I didn't understand in the book is why the only two characters in the book didn't have names. They were just called the old man and the boy. The boy helped the old man all the time and was his best friend. During the old mans voyage he talked a lot about the boy and he really wanted his help catching the fish.
One thing in the book I thought was cool was when he got back to shore the next day how everybody was around his boat looking at the fish skeleton. At the end the old man through the skeleton back into the water. At the end he also said to the boy that he could come fishing with him next time. I can relate to this book in a very small way. I have never been deep sea fishing, but I have fished before. I would recommend this book to really anyone, it's one of the most interesting book I have ever read.
